Images - A sneak peek on the facilities for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy

Wednesday, 02 July 2014

Here is a little sneak peek on the facilities for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy later this summer. Some things might change, but overall this is how it will look. All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

It is a big arena where the ring is placed some meters away from the massive grand stands.  Imagine this arena full of enthusiastic showjumping fans!  This stadium is normally used for fotball.  On Wednesday the organizers had given away tickets so in the afternoon it was a big crowd watching - and a very exited one! The French can really cheer. We guess that this water will show up in September as well.  It is a little walk from the warm-up to the arena.  Ring Master Pedro is leading the way through the tunnel into the ring.  Patrice Delaveau on his way into the ring, while Lauren Hough is going through the boot-check after her ride. A photo of the path from above the tunnel. It is the same surface from the warm-up all the way into the arena.  It is a big warm-up! Warm-up number one is the one closest to the arena and here you can see the stables in the background. The warm-up from the other side - with the arena in the background. The warm-up to the right - the vet-check area to the left.
