Images | The 'Masters' kicks off at Spruce Meadows

Friday, 12 September 2014

Ohlala - the biggest star of the day. All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

No rest for the bronze medalist from the World Equestrian Games. Beezie Madden is at Spruce Meadows - here with the well jumping Simon. Philipp Weishaupt dressed for the cold day. Fine Lady 5 helped Eric Lamaze to his first win of the weekend. When the rest of us had 4-5 jackets on, the ring master walked around like this! Kent Farrington and Blue Angel over the first fence in the first class. It was a lot of snow outside the arena.  At Spruce Meadows they take special care of their sponsors. All riders enter the arena between theses two Rolex watches.  And the riders don't salute the judges, they salute the sponsor of the class who is well taken care of in a little pavillion in the middle of the ring.  It was not as warm as it looks - even though it got warmer during the day. Here McLain Ward with HH Cannavaro. Fine Lady waiting for her rider. Penelope Leprevost with Mylord Carthago. A good place to rest for the lady taking care of the finish line. They are a very special combination - Rich Fellers and Flexible are still going strong. Lauren Hough taking a look at the special made spurs she just won. Kent - it is time to put the phone down. It is a prize giving going on. This photo might show how cold it really was - Steve Guerdat on Concerto Son. It was a lot of money to win already on the first day!
