Irish, French and British on first day of Bordeaux

Saturday, 05 February 2011

Friday’s biggest class in Bordeaux – a 1.50 class – was won by Denis Lynch and All Inclusive (Arpeggio x Phantom). The Irish rider was 0.71 seconds faster than Roger-Yves Bost on Ideal de la Loge. World champion Philippe Le Jeune was third on Boyante de Muze. The Irish are obviously in a brilliant form – with recent wins from Billy Twomey and Denis Lynch in Basel and Zürich – and now also in Bordeaux. Denis Lynch continues his good form - here last weekend in Zürich. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.

Much to the joy of the home crowd Simon Delestre and the nine year old mare Orphée d l’Illon (Arpege  Pierreville*HN x Prince du Logis) won the 1.45 class of the day. Philippe Rozier – who celebrates his birthday today – made it double French with his runner-up position on Ideal de Roy. Sergio Alvares Moya was third aboard Newton de Vains.

Guy Williams won the 1.40 class of the day aboard the 15 year old mare Orage (Dominard x Rex Magma).
