Jessica Kürten back on top

Sunday, 22 January 2012

Jessica Kürten on top in Amsterdam. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson/worldofshowjumping.com.Irish rider Jessica Kürten took home the win in Sunday’s 1.60 Grand Prix in Amsterdam riding Vincente (Oklund x Ufarno). Kürten has been one of the leading female riders over the last years, but we saw less of her in 2011 as she lost the ride of her top horses in January last year. Today she was back with the fastest round in a jump-off with nine qualified riders.

Second place went to home rider Gerco Schröder and the lovely grey mare Eurocommerce California (Corland x Ramiro),with Steve Guerdat and Jalisca Solier (Alligator Fontaine x Jalisco B) on third and Maurice van Roosbroeck as number four riding Dylano (Cento Lano x Athlet Z).

The class in Amsterdam saw 45 riders to start, including several interesting combinations such as Jeroen Dubbeldam and his quite new ride BMC Utascha SFN (Lux x Indoctro). With one fence down in the jump-off, Jeroen Dubbeldam took a comfortable eight place.
