It was another victory for Geir Gulliksen – aka Jimmy – at the Arctic Equestrian Games in Vestfold, Norway. Friday’s 3* 1.45 Grand Prix qualifier belonged to Norway, after Geir landed the win on his new super star Edesa S Banjan (Toulon x Lys de Darmen). A double clear round, and a jump-off almost two seconds faster than that off runner-up Harrie Wiering on World Wide (Corland x Animo) was more than good enough to end up on top. Third place went to the Maia Stange Røholm from Norway aboard Window (Weinzauber x Florestan I), who was only fractions behind the Dutch rider. The stylish Kingsland-rider Therese Søhol Henriksen completed a good Norwegian day ending fourth with Emotion Van T Beugelhof. “I really enjoy Banjan. It’s s super horse, and a good one,” Geir said after his win.
At the 2* show in Neeoreteren it was Viktor Daem from Belgium that made it to the top. Aboard Epsom Lady (Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Skippy II) he beat Dutch rider Mathijs van Asten by fractions in the jump-off, and the two left Pieter Devos to third.
