Katie McVean's winning stream

Friday, 16 March 2012

McVean in Leipzig riding the wonderful mare Delphi. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The big surprise of last year's World Cup final, Katie McVean, keeps showing what a brilliant rider she is. The 25 year old from New Zealand is currently competing in her home country at The Horse of the Year Show (HOY) where she proves to be someone to look out for in the future.

Thursday she won the lady rider title riding Zimorena, and today she won the $ 50.000 Silver Fern Stakes for the second consecutive year together with her top horse Dunstan Daffodil. Daffodil is the half sister to McVeans World Cup partner Delphi which was sold right after their great performance at the final in Leipzig. Sunday the pair will compete at the $ 200.000 Olympic Cup.
