Sunday, 18 March 2012

Katie McVean won the Olympic Cup - here she is on Delphi in Leipzig last year. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Katie McVean and Dunstan Daffodil took home the Olympic Cup at the Horse of the Year Show in New Zealand on Saturday. According to horsetalk.co.nz this was Katie’s fourth time winning this class, and her third consecutive showjumper of the year title. Katie also won the Lady Rider of the Year Title earlier this week.

Katie McVean and Dunstan Daffodil were the only pair to produce two clear rounds in the class, and afterwards McVean said to horsetalk.co.nz: “She just tried her little heart out!” Dunstan Daffodil is half sister to McVean’s former ride Delphi, who was sold to Saudi Arabia last year after a great performance in the World Cup final.
