Katrin Eckermann wins the Grand Prix of Hagen!

Sunday, 29 April 2012

Katrin Eckermann couldn´t keep her happy tears away. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Katrin Eckermann and Carlson (Casco x Sable Rose) won the CSI4* Grand Prix in Hagen after a fast and clear jump-off in the 1,60 class. It was a class with 48 riders and the twelve best from the first round went on to the second round.

Nicolas Pizarro from Mexico with Crossing Jordan (Champion Du Lys x Calypso II) was first to go in the second round and did a clear and safe round - not too fast but not slow either - and that put some pressure of the riders to come. Several riders went for it, but had to see a pole fall and mostly on the last fence.

Janne-Friederike Meyer with Holiday by Solitour (Contendro x Cascavelle) was the next rider who managed to be clear, but she wasn´t fast enough to take over the first place. But Simon Delestre with Napoli Du Ry (Baloubet du Rouet x Silvio) was - he was more than 1 second faster than Nicolas. Jörg Naeve with JK Horsetrucks Commanchi did his best, but he had to settle with being behind Janne-Friederike.

Last to go in the second round was Katrin Eckermann, who won yesterday´s big class, and she shaved off almost two and a half seconds on Simon Delestre's time and took over the lead with her fantastic Carlson!

This was the first Grand Prix of the year in the DKB Riders Tour.
