Kevin Staut travels to Guatemala for JustWorld International

After his recent team silver medal at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, Kevin Staut is about to take the trip to Guatemala beginning next week with JustWorld International, the charitable organization for which he has been a very active ambassador since 2007.

Kevin Staut will stay four days in Guatemala, one of the four countries including Colombia, Cambodia and Honduras, where JustWorld International funds life-changing and development programs for impoverished children. During this four-day-trip he will conduct a clinic for young local riders and some of the most renowned national jumping riders of Guatemala, that will entirely benefit to Los Patojos, the local project supported by JustWorld International. In addition to the benefit clinic, Kevin Staut will meet children at their school in "Jocotenango" a "barrio" on periphery of Antigua, the former capital city of Guatemala.

"In my mind, this trip represents an extraordinary occasion to play my role of JustWorld ambassador to the fullest," explains Kevin Staut. It is a way to deepen my relationship with the association, on the ground, with the children and the young riders who support JustWorld's humanitarian project right in their own country. This country is profoundly marked by equestrian culture, and I will have the opportunity to combine two aspects of it, the passion for the horse as animal and the equestrian sports along with the support for humanitarian projects and the children who benefit from it. I am also very excited to visit this project in Guatemala as the founder, Juan Pablo Ramirez Fuentes was just named a CNN Hero for his incredible work."

Kevin Staut will travel to the JustWorld Guatemala Project along with Jessica Newman, Founder and Executive Director of JustWorld International and his fellow French ambassador the actress Marina Hands. This will be the second visit of a project supported by JustWorld International for Kevin Staut. In October 2013, he travelled to Phnom Penh, in Cambodia. He then visited two schools built by the local charitable organization PIO (People Improvement Organisation) and funded by JustWorld, discussed with schoolchildren, attended their courses, and shared his passion for horses and equestrianism. This trip was emotionally intense for Kevin Staut, as he travelled with Jade, his sister born in Cambodia and adopted when she was only six months old. "It was an occasion to go into the field and to see concretely the work of JustWorld in this country, while living an wonderful human experience with Jade."

During these four days in Guatemala, Kevin Staut wants to focus on carrying the message of JustWorld International, helping the young riders to serve their apprenticeship of competition, sharing his experience of top level with the senior riders, some of whom have reached the international circuit. "My commitment in JustWorld evolves," he explains. "It is interesting to do it in a country where equestrianism occupies a great place, a country where passion for horses goes a long way back".

"I can't express how excited I am about this trip," explains Jessica Newman. "Kevin has been one of our most committed JustWorld ambassadors since the very beginning and these past two years he has gone above and beyond in his genuine devotion to the cause. Our experience in Cambodia was a strong one and I am truly anxious for him to come to our Guatemala project and to not only see what an amazing project it is but also to be part of the equestrian connection where equestrian ambassadors in Guatemala are supporting the project. This really brings JustWorld's vision full circle and I can't wait to be there all together next week!"
