It was the world’s highest ranked rider on one of the world’s best horses that went all the way to the top in today’s 1.50 class in Rotterdam. Eric Lamaze and Hickstead (Hamlet x Eikstein) took home Thursday’s biggest class after a double clear and a time in the winning round of 51.15 seconds. Runner-up was in-form David Will on Don Cesar (Drossan xFrühlingsball), who was third in the Hachenburg Grand Prix on Sunday. The pair was double clear on the time 52.68. The Japanese rider Taizo Sugitani was also double clear, and ended up third with the Animo-gelding Avenzio 3.

British rider Laura Renwick won a 1.40 class on the Heartbreaker-mare Beluga II, ahead of home rider Leopold van Asten and her team-mate Ben Maher.
