Wednesday, 01 June 2011

On top; Eric Lamaze - here with superhorse Hickstead. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Eric Lamaze has been on fire lately with Grand Prix wins in La Baule and Rome, and not surprisingly he now tops the Rolex world ranking. After ten months on top, Kevin Staut has been pushed down to second position. Irish rider Billy Twomey has climbed all the way from number seven to number three after several good results over the last month, including a win for the Irish team in La Baule.

Rolf-Göran Bengtsson is back up in fourth position; after he fell down to number six last month. Denis Lynch has dropped down from four to five, while World Cup final-winner Christian Ahlmann is up at rank six. McLain Ward has dropped from third position to seventh, and Pius Schwizer has also dropped down to eight. Marcus Ehning is in rank nine, while Simon Delestre is back in the top ten after dropping down to rank twelve last month.

No lady rider is represented in the Top Ten; Edwina Alexander has dropped out and is now rank eleven.

Outside the Top Ten, Ludger Beerbaum has made a huge climb from rank 27 to rank fourteen.
