Lauren Hough won Thursday night's Credit Suisse Grand Prix in Geneva on Ohlala (Orlando x Cardento). The class was naturally shadowed by Athina Onassis de Miranda's terrible fall with AD Camille Z though, as the mare very sadly had to be put to sleep following the accident. The class was completed though, and in the end it was Hough who was the fastest of the 21 riders that went on to the jump-off after first clear rounds over the 1.55 track.
Twelve out of these went clear against the clock, were Lauren and the tiny mare could not be touched with a super fast round that was almost a second faster than that of runner-up Ludger Beerbaum on Chaman (Baloubet Du Rouet x I Love You). The German rider chased Hough as good as he could, but was not able to catch her. Third place went to Belgium's Pieter Devos on Dream of India Greenfield (Gem Of India x Night And Day), fourth to Ireland's Bertram Allen on Molly Malone V (Kannan x Cavalier) and fifth to Paul Estermann on Castlefield Eclipse (Obos Quality 004 x Furisto) who all three finished within a 0.09 second range of each other.
Earlier in the afternoon Abdelkebir Ouaddar won the 1.45 class Prix des Vins de Genève. Riding Cordano Sitte Z (Carthago Z x Major De La Cour), the Moroccan rider finished the two phase class 0.45 seconds faster than second placed Alain Jufer on Radja d'Artemis (Diamant De Semilly, Sfa x Galoubet A). Third was Reed Kessler on Soraya De L'Obstination (Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Skippy).
