Leopold van Asten best in La Coruna on Sunday

Sunday, 22 December 2013

Leopold van Asten and VDL Groep Zidane en route to victory. Photo by Manuel Queimadelos.Sunday's biggest class at the CSI5* show in La Coruna, Spain - the 1,55 m Trofeo Azkar - was won by Leopold van Asten on VDL Groep Zidane (Heartbreaker x Calando I). Four riders were double clear in the class, and second and third went to the young brothers Olivier Philippaerts with Early Morning Mist (Lancaster V x Van Spalbeek Cannan) and Nicola Philippaerts with Quenzo de la Roque (Kannan x Jasmin).

The fourth double clear came from Michel Hecart and Pasha du Gue (Dollar dela Pierre SF x Darko). Three riders managed to be faster than the winner, but four faults stopped the following from winning; Denis Lynch on All Inclusive NRW (Arpeggio x Pranton), Kent Farrington on Willow (Guidam x Little Rock) and Richard Spooner on Cristallo (Caretino x Cicero).
