Ludger Beerbaum and the 13 year old Chaman (Baloubet du Rouet x I Love You) took home the win and a new car in the Grand Prix at the 3* show in Dortmund today. It was a difficult first round and only five of the 44 riders in the class managed to qualify for the jump-off. All of them were Germans.
The first one in the jump-off was Florian Meyer zu Hartum with Heidegirl Wichenstein. Florian was the very first rider in the first round as well and made the difficult course look easy. In the jump-off Florian went for it and put some real pressure on the rest to come with a fast clear round.
Second to go was Patrick Stühlmeyer with Caribik (Come On x Lancer) but Patrick had to see two poles fall to the ground – the first element of the combination and the very last fence. Then it was time for Jan Wernke and Queen Mary – Jan and his amazing mare fought their way around and took over the lead.
Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking – another young German rider – were next to go with Chopin. Tim for sure wanted to win and would have taken over the lead if itwasn'tfor the one pole that fell on the last fence.
Last to go was without doubt the most experienced rider, Ludger Beerbaum with Chaman, and he showed everyone how it´s suppose to be done! With unbelievable short turns he could make a very calm and fantastic jump-off and take over the lead with more than two seconds.
