Lynch's case scheduled to be heard today

Saturday, 28 July 2012

Denis Lynch. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The ad hoc Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in London will hear Denis Lynch’s case today. On CAS’ website it is stated that the procedure is in progress and a panel is expected to hear the case and render a decision on the 28th of July. According to WoSJ’s knowledge the hearing will take place at 8.00 pm tonight, and a decision should therefore be expected shortly thereafter.

Lynch’s appeal to CAS was filed on Thursday. The Irish rider has challenged Horse Sport Ireland’s decision to withdraw his nomination for the 2012 Olympic Games. Together with Billy Twomey, Lynch was originally one of the two Irish riders nominated by HSI to compete at the Games – but the nomination was later withdrawn and Cian O’Connor was selected to replace Lynch.
