Manuel Anon Suarez wins in Monte Carlo

Saturday, 25 June 2011

Manuel Anon Suarez - here on Rackel Chavannaise in GCT in Hamburg. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The only 18 year old Manuel Anon Suarez from Spain was the fastest one in the jump-off in Monte Carlo, Monaco, on Friday night. Manuel was riding the chestnut mare Fantasia (Noncorde x Rex Magna xx) and with their time of 34,37 seconds they were just slightly ahead of Alvaro de Miranda on AD Norson (Quidam de Revel x Grand Veneur) who ended the course on 34,40. Edwina Alexander continues her good form and ended up in third place with Cevo Socrates (Darco x Chin Chin).

“This is my first year competing at the CGT. I’m very happy and rather proud,” declared Manuel after his win. “When I discovered I’d be riding alongside such great riders I became worried I’d never win another event again. I’m more used to winning or qualifying in three star events, but not at this level.”

On Saturday evening it is time for the big Global Champions Tour class in Monte-Carlo, where yet again a lot of money is at stake.
