The competition – presented by Sprehe Feinkost – had eight riders qualifying for the jump-off over the first round 1.50-1.60 track. Only four riders remained clear against the clock though, including first-to-go Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski on Crazy Quick (Chacco-Blue x Quick Star). With 48.78 seconds the Polish rider set the time to beat. Next to go clear was Bettinger who on the ten-year old Bacardi (Balou du Rouet x Argentinus) shaved the time down to 45.32 seconds to take the lead. Stefan Eder and Chilli van Dijk NRW (Champion du Lys x Alcatraz) were highly motivated and gave their everything; stopping the clock on 46.76 seconds which brought the pair in second place. Lorenzo de Luca slotted into third on a time of 46.99 aboard Elky van het Indihof (Toulon x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve).

"The win is great, as Bacardi is actually a horse that I am building up,” said a delighted Marc Bettinger was after his win. Stefan Eder was also happy with being runner-up; "Chilli jumped great! Marc just put down a super round and was really fast."
