Marco Kutscher and Cornet’s Cristallo can’t be caught in Lyon

Friday, 01 November 2013

Marco Kutscher and Cornet's Cristallo took home the biggest class in Lyon on Friday. Photo by WoSJ.Marco Kutscher and Cornet’s Cristallo (Cornet Obolensky x Pilot) were unbeatable in the Prix French Tour at Equita Lyon on Friday evening. The sympathetic German rider and his charming 10 year old companion came in with a little less than twenty riders to go in the 1.50-1.60 speed class that counted 57 riders, and rode a smooth yet incredibly fast round over the twelve fence track – slotting in on a time of 56.90 and thus pushing leading home rider Kevin Staut down to second.

It was the seemingly impossible Marco did – Kevin’s round on Quismy des Vaux HDC (Dollar de la Pierre x Super de Bourriere) was very fast, and the French rider was all smiles as he left the ring to wild cheering from the enthusiastic home crowd that created a fantastic atmosphere in the class. Nevertheless Marco – who has been out of competition due to an injury most of the summer – shaved off 0.78 seconds on Kevin’s time.

The French might not have won the class, but they were well represented on the prize giving as Penelope Leprevost ended third on Nayana (Royal Feu x Narcos II) with a time of 57.86 after a trademark beautiful yet efficient round.
