Marcus Ehning and Olivier Philippaerts on top in Den Bosch

Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Marcus Ehning took home the win in the 1.50 class against the clock in Den Bosch Friday evening after a very speedy round aboard Sabrina Sandro Boy x Landadel). The Dutch audience got a lot to cheer for though as Maikel van der Vleuten was second with Kisby (Kaiserwind x Lohberg) and Jur Vrieling secured third place riding VDL Bubalu (Baloubet du Rouet x Nimmerdor. In all six Dutch riders were clear and the always good atmosphere in Den Bosch started to gear up for the rest of the weekend.


The 12-fence course did not look too difficult, but fence number nine, the Rabobank oxer placed straight out off a corner, caused difficulties for many of the riders. In the end 15 riders still managed to produce clear rounds on the first day of the last World Cup weekend ahead of the final in April.

Earlier in the evening Olivier Philippaerts won the 1.45 class with Fidele (Winningmood van de Arenbe x Jus de Pomme) ahead of Joep Raijmakers with Van Schjindel’s Wamberto (Cantos x Legaat) and Pius Schwizer with Graciella (Graf Top x Acord II).
