On Monday Marcus Ehning's success horse Anka 191 (Argentinus x Waidmann) passed away. The mare had to be put down at Ehning's barn at the age of 23. With Marcus, Anka won the World Cup Final in Las Vegas in 2003 in addition to notching up several big Grand Prix wins during her career.
After her retirement Anka has been used for breeding, and leaves behind several great offspring. Some of them are still at Ehning's yard. The great chestnut got a foal by Marcus' ride Cornado NRW last year and you can click here to read the WoSJ Exclusive about Anka's amazing babies.
