Marlon Zanotelli wins the Masters in Antwerp

Saturday, 26 April 2014

Marlon Zanotelli won the Masters class sponsored by BMW in Antwerp. Photo by Stefano Grasso / LGCT.Ashford Farm and Brazil's Marlon Zanotelli got a brand new BMW last night when he won the BMW Masters in Antwerp. Aboard Nenuphar'Jac (Cumano xPidayack), Marlon was the best of the ten riders in the class – proceeding on to the final round against the clock together with four other riders. First to go to chase the time was Steve Guerdat, who on Zanzibar (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Ahorn) had one pole down in the time of 31.61. Marlon Zanotelli followed up with a fast clear in 30.21 seconds to take the lead, and none of the remaining riders could catch him. As last to go, Edwina Tops-Alexander and Erenice Horta (Diamant de Semilly x Parco) came the closest though – and with one down in the time of 30.58 the pushed Steve down to third.
