Michaels-Beerbaum not to defend German Championship title

Thursday, 09 June 2011

Not defending their title; Meredith and Checkmate. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum has decided not to defend her German Championship title this year, and will thus not ride the Championships in Balve from the 16 to 19 of June. Last year Meredith won the championship on Checkmate (Contender x Pik Bube), but the 16 year old gelding is presently enjoying a competition break. Shutterfly (Silvio I x Silbersee) – who is now 18 years old – will due to his age be spared from competing in the championships’ four tough rounds.

Michaels-Beerbaum has stated that none of the other horses that presently are at her disposal will have a chance to win, and she has thus decided not to compete.
