Several classes have been ridden in Mechelen today including the Vlaanderen Championship, a class that only was open for Belgian bred horses as well as the classes for six and seven year old approved stallions.
It was Koen Vereecke who won the Vlaanderen Championship (Vlaanderen being an area in Belgium) aboard Carlito C. Out of 27 riders only two produced two clear rounds, the other one being Nick Vrins who ended second with Fair Light vh Heike. Olivier Philippaerts and Baileys produced the fastest jump-off, but with four faults he had to settle for third place. Jos Lansink is another well known Belgian rider that made it to the jump-off where he ended on seventh place with Zomotti.
Koen Vereecke kept on winning! With Dior vh Indihof (Rubend du Ry d'Asse x Orlando) Vereecke also took home the international CSI5* class which was only open for Belgian bred horses. Second place went to Guy Williams and Depardieu vant Kiezelhof (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve x Lantano) while third place went to Niels Bruynseels and Diamanthina van't Ruytershof (Diamant de Semilly x Carthago).
