Moya and Van Asten on top in La Coruna

Friday’s two biggest classes at the five star event in La Coruna went to Sergio Alvarez Moya and Leopold van Asten. Home rider Sergio won the 1.50 class Trofeo NH Hoteles riding Zipper (Apple Juice x Concorde) to one of the twelve double clears in the class, but with by far the fastest time at 32.98 seconds. Then followed the Master of Faster – Richard Spooner – on Cristallo (Caretino x Cicero) at 34.62 seconds, ahead of third placed Gregory Wathelet on Riesling du Monselet (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Laeken).

Leopold won the 1.45 Warsteiner Trophy riding the 14 year old Luidam-mare VDL Groep Amelie to a clear round in the time of 51.17 seconds. Ukranian rider Cassio Rivetti ended second on Cartoon 2 (Cartoon x Caretano Z) stopping the clock at 53.84 seconds, while Henk Van de Pol accompanied the two on the podium – securing two Dutch riders in the top three aboard Willink (Twister x Landsieger).
