Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The United States Equestrian Federation reports that Robert Ridland is the new Chef d’equipe for their showjumping team. Ridland will follow the legendary George Morris, who retires in 2013 after six years of service. The Federation's Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of Ridland as the next Chef d' Equipe/ Technical Advisor pending the successful negotiation of a contract. Ridland was recommended to the Executive Committee by the Show Jumping Eligible Athlete Committee and the Show Jumping High Performance Committee.

On their website the US federation states that Ridland has a vast scope of knowledge and experience. He represented the United States on two Olympic teams, he is a course designer, competition manager and has served on the FEI Jumping Committee and on the USEF Board of Directors. His company, Blenheim EquiSports, manages horse shows in California in addition to having run three Rolex/FEI World Cup Finals in Las Vegas.
