Katharina Offel will in the future be based at Liane Müller’s yard in Wipperfürth, Germany. Offel has moved from Jochen Scherer’s stable in Lohmar, where she has been for the past 15 years – to set up her own business. With her Offel has brought horses such as Fidji Island, B Once Z, MCB Sommerwind and Newton de Vains – which she rides for Günther and Dana Rösch, Ali Dincer, Pia-Luise Aufrecht and Donbass Equicenter respectively. The Ukrainian rider has also been reunited with her former ride Cathleen, owned by Frank Müller – who is Liane’s brother-in-law. In addition she has been given the ride on two of the Müller’s young horses; Lord Grannus and Lord Larry.
“I am very excited about the opportunity Liane, Jürgen and Frank Müller has provided me with, and I really look forward to my co-operation with them. I am also very grateful to those of my horse owners that have chosen to follow me; their support is extremely important to me when I make my new start,” Offel says.
“My wish is to continue to compete at top level just as I have done for the past years, and I also look forward to developing younger horses – as it is one of my biggest passions. I intend to contribute to the Ukrainian team in 2014 as well, and hope for more success together with my team mates that also have been very supportive in this process. Of course I also hope to strengthen my string of horses as I go along, and to be able to welcome some new arrivals now that I start up on my own,” Offel states.
