Philipp and Coupe de Coeur in action in Cannes. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Several new combniations have been out and about competing this weekend. In Cannes Philipp Weishaupt did his second show on Coupe de Coeur (Calido I x Lincoln) – with one time fault in Thursday’s 1.50 class and then finishing off by ending 11th in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix. About his Grand Prix result Philipp commented on; "I really didn’t expect that, so I am very happy. It is really fun to ride him! The plan is that I will keep the ride on him, and our next show together will probably be Aachen or Estoril – and both shows should suite him a little better than Cannes as the rings are a bit bigger and he likes that more." As already reported Jackson Hole (Quite Easy x Robin Z) was seen under Harrie Smolders – the two ended 8th in Friday’s 1.50 class and 7th in Saturday’s 1.45/1.50 class at their second outing together. Pius Schwizer jumped Z Amelusina (Odermus R x Voltaire); they were placed in Thursday’s 1.45 class as number four. The Swiss rider also rode this 9 year old mare in Rome.

At Spruce Meadows Eric Lamaze and Tiffany Foster competed their new rides Powerplay and Verdi III – both previously seen under Pius. In Wednesday’s 1.45 class Eric Lamze placed as number five with Powerplay (Casall x Limbus), while Tiffany Foster had only one time penalty with her new ride Verdi III (Hors la Loi III x Cantus). Both riders took out the same horses in the Nations Cup, where Lamaze had five penalties in the first round and was clear in the second – while Foster had four in the first and five in the second. Eric and Powerplay were also placed as number five in Sunday’s 1.50 class – proving that they have already formed a great partnership.

In Pforzheim, Georgina Bloomberg partnered up with Juvina (Cassini I x Grannus) – usually seen under German rider David Will. They had four faults in Saturday’s 1.45 class, and in Sunday’s 1.50 class they were placed as number twelve.
