New horse for Lamaze

Tuesday, 06 September 2011

Eric Lamaze has every reason to smile these days. Photo by Sportfot.Eric Lamaze has a new ride in the stallion Wang Chung m2s (Royal Bravour x Ahorn). The eight year old KWPN stallion is owned and bred by Morningside Stud in Ireland. As a four and five year old the chestnut stallion was ridden by Dutch rider Eddie Brinkman, and in 2009 German rider Felix Hassmann took over the reins.

The stallion has achieved many excellent results with both riders, and under Hassmann Wang Chung m2s won five German Grand Prix classes, the Bronze Medal in the German Championat der Landesmeiste, as well as 13 international showjumping classes. On the stud’s website Dr. Thomas Reed – founder and owner of Morningside Stud – states; "I am very grateful for the excellent job Felix and his team did with Wang Chung”. The plan is for Eric to take Wang Chung m2s to the CSIO5* in Barcelona.

A little bit of history as well; Eric’s top horse Hickstead is a grand-son of Morningside Stud's deceased stallion Ekstein.
