New horse for McVean

Friday, 27 May 2011

Katie McVean will be back in Europe on a new horse - here on Delphi. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.New Zealand’s talented rider Katie McVean has a new horse to ride in the eight year old Wavantos VD Renvillehoeve (by Lux Z x Wellington). McVean’s chances to qualify for next year’s Olympics in London is thus not gone, as many thought after she sold her top horse Delphi earlier this month to the Saudi  Equestrian Federation.

The Dutchman Jan Schep was so impressed with McVean’s performances in Den Bosch and Leipzig, that he offered her a chance to ride the horse which was previously ridden by Polish rider Lukasz Wasilewski.

McVean will ride Wavantos VD Renvillehoeve at the CHIO show in Aachen to try to qualify for the Olympics. The soon to be 25 year old will return to Europe in mid-June.
