Nicola Philippaerts does as his father in Falsterbo

Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.On Friday Ludo Philippaerts won the first Grand Prix qualification in Falsterbo, and today it was his son’s Nicola’s turn – as he went all the way to the top in the third qualification aboard Vadetta vh Mettenhof (Orame x Ahorn). Coming in almost half way in the 69 rider class, the Belgian rider produced a tremendous round over the twelve fence track that included two combinations – crossing the finish line on 67.10 seconds and taking over the lead. The remaining riders could do nothing about Nicola’s fabulous time, although Cassio Rivetti came very, very close on Niack de L’Abbaye (Diamant de Semilly x Rocky du Carel) – only fractions behind at 67.12 seconds. Niack was also third in Thursday’s qualification, showing great form here in Falsterbo.

Third was Leon Thijssen on the bouncy Haertthago (Heartbreaker x Carthago Z), with a time of 68.63 seconds. Then followed Henrik von Eckermann, and Nicola’s father Ludo in fourth and fifth.
