No World Equestrian Games for Ben Maher's Cella

Saturday, 30 August 2014

There will be no World Equestrian Games for Ben Maher and Cella. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Ben Maher's Cella (Cento x Chin Chin) will due to an injury not jump at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Horse & Hound reports that the 12 year old mare sustained a small overreach injury during training, and that she will not be able to compete on the British team in Normandy. "Cella is a once in a lifetime horse, so we have made the decision to withdraw from WEG 2014," was Maher's reaction on Twitter.

The British squad now consists of; Scott Brash/Hello Sanctos, Joe Clee/Utamaro d'Ecaussines, Spencer Roe/Wonder Why and Michael Whitaker/Viking. Jessie Drea is new travelling reserve with Touchable.
