Not one to watch, but some to watch…

Tuesday, 16 July 2013

Some horses really impressed in Falsterbo this past weekend, and here is a selection of which horses to watch out for in the near future – they all look like super stars in the making. We start with the most obvious choice, Casallo Z – a nine year old gelding by Casall x Carthago Z ridden by Piergiorgio Bucci. Casallo Z was double clear in the Nations Cup, and jumped amazing! He won the Grand Prix in Poznan in June, and is definitely one we will see a lot more of! All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

Willem Greve’s ride Carambole was outstanding in the Nations Cup, jumping two clear rounds to help Holland to third. Carambole is a 9 year old stallion by Cassini I x Concerto II – and was on the Dutch winning Nations Cup team in Copenhagen in May.
Timothee Anciaume’s ride Quorioso Pre Noir is a 9 year old stallion by Kannan, who jumped clear in the second round of the Nations Cup and then double clear in the Grand Prix to finish 5t – really impressing with his qualities. The pair was on the winning Nations Cup team in Drammen earlier this year, and also on the French team that finished second in Copenhagen. We think we wil see a lot of this horse in the future.
Another one that jumped into our hearts was Windsor XV, ridden by Swiss rider Niklaus Rutschi. This is a 10 year old gelding by Karandasj x Wellington, and he jumped two fantastic rounds in the Nations Cup and was clear in the second. This pair has already notched up some wins together, and we expect to see a lot more of them.
Be Once Z is another super star in the making. This 9 year old Baloubet du Rouet x Lavaletto mare is ridden by Katharina Offel, and shows great promise. She was second in the 1.50 Grand Prix qualifier on Thursday, and was also placed in the qualifier on Saturday. The mare already impressed in Wiesbaden, where she ended second with Offel in the 1.50 DKB Riders Tour qualifier.
And then to a 7 year old stallion; Singular LS La Silla by Chapultepec La Silla x Stakkato. This horse takes your breath away under Marcus Ehning, and is really something special. Singular ended second in the 7 year old final this weekend, and is going from strength to strength – he also jumped amazing in the youngster cup in Aachen. We expect big things from these two!
Another 7 year old that impressed was VDL Cohiba seen under Jur Vrieling. The stallion by Chacco-Bleu x Accord II jumped amazing in the final in Falsterbo, to finish 8th. We look forward to see more of this fantastic horse in the future.
