Opening win for Gaudiano in Paris, while it’s a home win in Salzburg

Friday, 06 December 2013

It was a home win in Salzburg for Helmut Morbitzer. Phot by © Nini Schäbel.Emanuele Gaudiano won the opening 1.45 speed class at the Gucci Paris Masters on Thursday afternoon riding Caesario 6 (Cornet Obolensky x Pilot). The Italian rider is always dangerous against the clock, and yesterday was no exception as he raced around the track to finish on 56.77 seconds, taking the victory from Patrice Delaveau and the Le Tot de Semilly-son Quenndal de Lojou. The French rider thus ended second on a time of 58.63 seconds. Third was Jane Richard Philips, riding Dieudonne de Guldenboom (Nabab de Rêve x Gibramino) – crossing the finish line in a time of 58.79 seconds.

At the four star event in Salzburg the opening win went to Austrian rider Helmut Morbitzer on Quincy-Star (Quantum x Lennon). It was double Austrian on top in this 1.45 speed class, as Hugo Simon and Freddy 7 (For Pleasure x Contender) ended second – securing two popular veterans on top with their 58 and 71 years respectively. Morbitzer was by far the fastest of the two though, and had almost three seconds down to Simon. Third place went to Pia-Luise Aufrecht on Venus (Ohorn x Jus de Pomme) at a time of 67.22 seconds.
