Pappas Amadeus Horse Indoors GP to Taizo Sugitani

Sunday, 04 December 2011

Taizo Sugitani and Avenzio make a good team. Here from Rotterdam in August. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The talented Japanese rider Taizo Sugitani and his Animo-gelding Avenzio won todays Grand Prix at the 4* show in Salzburg. Sugitani was as much as 3.47 seconds faster than runner up Holger Wulschner and his stallion Cefalo (Caretino x Laurin).

The class had 45 entries and thirteen managed clear first rounds. Out of them only four combinations were clear also in the jump-off, and the fastes one was Sugitani at 44 seconds. Then followed Wulschner with Antonio Marinas and Al Capone (Alcatraz x Carolus I) and Max Kühner and the wonderful Clintop (Clinton x Calvaro) on respectively third and fourth. Both Marinas and Kühner had safe rounds at 50.06 and 51.06 seconds.

The fastest time of the day belonged to Beat Mändli aboard Louis (Lord Pezi x Ultraschall). They crossed the finish line at 42.83, but unfortunately one pole fell and they had to settle for fifth place.
