Patrick Stühlmeyer takes a popular home win in the Grand Prix in Frankfurt

Sunday, 21 December 2014

Patrick Stühlmeyer won the Grand Prix of Hessen in Frankfurt. Photo by (c) Stefan Lafrentz. There was more German success at the CSI3* event in Frankfurt on Sunday, as Patrick Stühlmeyer and Markus Renzel stepped up to the top two places on the podium in the Grand Prix of Hessen. It was a strong field of riders in this 1.55 class, but in the end nobody could touch the two German riders who were the only ones to produce double clear rounds aboard Lacan 2 (Lando) and Cassydy (Corrado I x Alcatraz). Stühlemyer was the fastest though, bring the time down to 35.66 seconds while Renzel stopped the clock on 37.27. "That's one of my biggest successes," said the winner afterwards.

The fastest time of the day belonged to Steve Guerdat on Corbinian (Cornet Obolensky x Pilot), who crossed the finish line on the jump-off in an incredible 32.59 seconds but on the expense of a fence down – putting them in third position.
