Pedro Veniss wins Saturday's biggest class at Jumping International Mons

Saturday, 05 July 2014

Pedro Veniss won Saturday's 1.50 class in Mons. Photo by World of Showjumping.Saturday's biggest win at the CSI4* event Jumping International Mons belonged to Brazil's Pedro Veniss. Riding Amemoi O Sandor (Elan de la Cour), Pedro produced a lightning fast round on the lovely 12 year old chestnut gelding – to take over the lead from Katharina Offel and Pin Up Ouistreham (Jarnac) who took an early lead in the 1.50 speed class Prix Vivons Sport with a time of 69.49 seconds. Veniss managed to shave it down to 69.04 though, and then came Reynald Angot on Palawane du Sully (Rosire) and slotted into second between the two with a time of 69.16.

The 1.45 Prix Ricoh went to Switzerland's Paul Estermann on Lancer (Lancer II). It was a close call though as only 0.02 second separated him from Aymerick de Ponnat on Onestar du Mesnil (Diamant de Semilly). In third came a home rider Nicola Philippaerts aboard Fons van't Geyzeven (Obourg).
