Photos from a snowy Tuesday at Spruce Meadows - part two

Wednesday, 10 September 2014

At Spruce Meadows they have a good sense of humor so it was no surprise to find this snowman on the showground. Yesterday we were listening to Christmas carrols and saw Christmas lights in the trees. All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

Some of the horses from the World Equestrian Games are here - Codex One is one of them. Christian Ahlmann has the chance to win a lot of money in the Rolex Grand Slam series as he won the Rolex Grand Prix in Aachen. The globe made of horse shoes. The winners of the previous Spruce Meadows Grand Prix.... ...goes from 1976 and until today. Who will win this year? Liberty Son, who was reserve for the German team with Marco Kutscher in Normandy is now at Spruce. The Zangersheide-team. Heidi lives in Switzerland - and is from Finland - so she is used to snow.  William Whitaker should also be used to all kinds of weather coming from Great Britain! Eric Lamaze's Fine Lady on her way to the vet-check. Conor Swail's Lansdowne is another World Equestrian Games reserve horse that will compete this week. Big or small - everyone was prepared for the snow. Everywhere around the showground there were statues covered in snow...
