Pictures; Sun and rain in Rotterdam

Saturday, 27 August 2011

Michel Robert looked more like a cowboy than a showjumper wearing his large jacket in the heavy rain in Rotterdam. All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

Ben Maher and Milena didn't have their best day at work, and Ben chose to retire after fence nine. Have you met tonight's winner?  Eric and Spartacus got four faults in the jump-off in the 1.40 class. Whoops... Piet Raijmakers jr did a good job on Van Schijndels Valentino, but the horse had some opinions of its own throughout the course.  Rolf-Göran Bengtsson had a new raincoat to try and "fly" Kiara over the fences. It seemed to work quite well as the horse was double clear in the 1.40.  Simon Delestere's Couletto wasn't too happy about the rain and got eliminated in the 1.40 jump-off. Lauren Hough and Clipz. The winner of the 1.40 - Alexander Butler with Crosstown Skylight. Stefanie van der Brink's Heartbreaker gelding Verdi jumped sky-high, but the last combination stopped them from joining the jump-off. Thomas Voss seconds before he crashed through the fence.
