Reigning European Champion Roger Yves Bost won the CSI3* Grand Prix of the City of Saint-Lô on Sunday. Riding Qoud'Coeur de la Loge – a son of the French rider's former top horse Ideal de la Loge – Bosty took a very popular win ahead of Vice World Champion Patrice Delaveau with Ornella Mail*HDC (Lando x Alligator Fontaine). The two were properly celebrated by the packed house of French spectators who stayed throughout the prize giving to celebrate the home heroes.
Six pairs made it to the jump-off, and after three riders had been in the ring for a second time there were still no clear rounds. Delaveau made a change to that though, as Ornella Mail *HDC made light work of the shortened track while in usual style playing with her hind legs to cross the finish line without faults in 42.44 seconds. Friday's winners Amy Graham and Bella Baloubet (Baloubet du Rouet x Landadel) tried their best, and were clear – although slower than Delaveau. But with Bosty as last in the ring, no one is safe – and that was the case today as well. During his round the audience loudly encouraged the European Champion, who brought the time down to 41.83 seconds to steal the win.
