Principal 12 out of action after colic surgery

Thursday, 12 January 2012

Principal has been operated for colic. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Martin Fuchs’ top horse Principal 12 is out of competition after a colic attack that led to surgery. According to pferdewoche.ch the 16 year old gelding showed signs of colic Wednesday morning, and needed emergency surgery. Luckily the surgery went well, and Principal is now out of danger. With Principal Martin Fuchs has two silver medals from the European Championship for Young Riders in 2011, as well as a third place from the prestigious CN International Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows in 2011.

Fuchs’ other top ride Ideo du Thot is also out at the moment and recovering in Normandy, which means that the Swiss riders will miss out on competing with the two horses on home soil in Basel the coming weekend.
