Promotional League standings

Wednesday, 17 August 2011

Theo Muff - here in Copenhagen earlier this year - has been one of the riders on the Swiss team this season. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. With one remaining leg of the Promotional League, Switzerland is in the lead in the series with 59.5 points. Sweden is in rank two, 8.5 points behind the Swiss. Third position belongs to Italy with 48.5 points. For full ranking in the Promotional League click here. As there is only one round left in Gijon, Spain, before the final in Barcelona later in September – it looks as Switzerland will be the team securing a spot in the Top League in 2012.

The remaining teams that want to compete in the Top League next year will have to fight for it in the final in Barcelona, where the winning team will take the second available spot. Sweden, Italy, Spain and Ukraine all look like strong teams in the battle for the Top League. But in showjumping, things are seldom decided until the last fence has been jumped – so we will all have to hold our breath while waiting for the outcome in Gijon before all eyes are on the final.
