Quick Study and Lauren Hough win the Grand Prix in Dublin

The Longines International Grand Prix of Ireland saw USA’s Lauren Hough and Quick Study (Quick Star x What A Joy) go all the way to the top. The pair was one of only two double clears in Dublin, and their time of 59.95 was much faster than that of runner-up Michel Robert and Kellemoi De Pepita (Voltaire x Jalme des Mesnuls) who crossed the finish line on the time of 63.02 in the second round.

The quickest time of the day belonged to the girl in third position; Penelope Leprevost on Mylord Carthago *HN (Carthago x Jalisco B). The French pair had a fence down though. The French success today is no doubt a good sign before the last leg of the TopLeague takes place in late August; and it looks like the French are finding their form in good time before the Europeans in Madrid.

Young and talented Nicola Philippaerts – son of Ludo – did a good job do end of fifth just behind Michael Whitaker on fourth.
