Germany's Chef d'Equipe Otto Becker on today's win; "I think we won today because all four riders and horses did a fantastic job! It was exiting to the very end and until Ludger had crossed the finishing line. We really wanted to win today as this was the first Nations Cup where we could get some points, so we are really happy that we succeeded. The next shows for us to collect points will be in Aachen and Hickstead. We had St. Gallen, but you all know that story by now."
About the American team, Otto said: "The American team have some really good riders and I said already yesterday to the FEI TV that they were my favorites. They really made it hard for us to win today."
Ludger Beerbaum and Christian Ahlmann got a question about what they thought about the course and Ludger started off by saying: "The course was a bit of everything, but the biggest struggle was with the time. But when you see the result from the first three teams it was really tight and it was exciting sport. Such a result speaks for a good course." Ahlmann continued; "As Ludger said the biggest fence today was the time allowed. But it was a fair course. It was technical but it wasn't the biggest Nations Cup, so I guess it will be bigger on Sunday."
Philipp Weishaupt who was double clear with Monte Bellini today got the question about how to prepare for the second round:"The difficulties are in keeping the concentration and to forget all about the first round. But a horse like Monte Bellini, makes it really easy for you."
