"I tried to keep calm and it worked today," Marcus Ehning said after his win. Both Marcus horses Campbel and Plot Blue had a fight in the lorry on their way to the show which led to a swollen leg for Plot Blue; "He wasn't injured and he was never lame, but Kay had to walk a bit extra with him and cool his leg. But it was never any real worry".
"My horse is 16 and I'm not a junior anymore either, so by now I know what I can do and not do. I did a good, but not crazy jump-off, and that was enough today," Marcus said about his jump-off.
William Funnell's Billy Congo has been really good both in London last week and now in Cannes. "He had one down in Wiesbaden and has just got better and better since then," William commented on the amazing stallion.
Maikel van der Vleuten said this about today's rounds: "Last weekend my feeling was that he jumped really well, but today everything also went well with three clear rounds. It was a long time ago, so I'm very happy to be back up on the podium."
As leader of the overall standing Laura Kraut was also at the press conference: "I think it's better not to think about the overall standing and instead just focus on each individual competition. But I'm really honored to be in the position I am right now," she said.
