Ludger Beerbaum on going in as last with the gold already secured: It was really nice and little pressure on me – but of course I always want to do something for the team. I really wanted to do my best! And I wanted to prove that it was not a mistake to select me [said the veteran with six championship gold medals with a smile]!
John Whitaker on the bronze medal: We are of course very pleased with the bronze. We were going well today and kept fighting. It was a fantastic course!
Kevin Staut on the silver: We had a really good first day and were so motivated! It was hard yesterday with little luck and no clears, but in the evening we spoke together about what we had to do. We wanted to stay on the podium! With clears from Michel and Penelope it was easier for me and Olivier; the team did a super job!
Carsten-Otto on Corradina: She jumps incredible, simply unbelievable!
Marco Kutscher on Cornet Obolensky: It was an honor for me to be on the team today. Normally I would take Cash, but I brought both horses to Rio and Cash had three down in the Grand Prix. I was a little depressed about that, and wondered whether to take Cornet or Cash here. In the end my feeling was better with Cornet after the shows he has done and Otto trusted my judgment!
Otto Becker on his team: The feeling is good now! The riders make it easy for me, and everybody works together! I’m proud to work on a team like this!
