Quotes from Hamburg

Saturday, 19 May 2012

The stars of Hamburg. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Nick Skelton on his fantastic horse; “Big Star is just nine and he has been jumping really well this year and last year as well. He has a head on him as a twelve year old - he is really smart and he likes to jump and to do his job! Laura Kraut saw him at a national show in Holland when he was five and she said - you have to come and buy this horse. So I got on a plane and bought him. “

Rolf on being the first to go in the jump-off;  "Of course it is always a bit better to be later in the jump-off, but today I could not have done it better so I am really pleased with my second place. Casall La Silla is a really easy and consistent horse and I know him for many years now. He seems to like this show and jumped really good in all three rounds today."

Katrin Eckermann on her GCT debut in Hamburg; “I am really happy with my third place behind Nick and Rolf. My horse Carlson is unbelievable. We bought him when he was two years old so we really do know each other.”

Edwina - the overall leader on today’s round; "I would have preferred to be on the podium, but it was a fantastic sport and an amazing course. It was really really big and I don’t think that Frank could have build it bigger."
