Quotes from Hannover

Sunday, 23 October 2011

Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The winner Jörg Oppermann was a bit overwhelmed by the win in Grand Prix from Hannover. “Unbelievable," was the first thing he said at the press conference. “My plan was not to ride the Riders Tour final in München but now I might have to change my plan,” he continued.

Runner-up Katharina Offel, that just ended her collaboration with Onischenko, showed everyone that she can do well on her own as well. “Cathleen is just 9 years old and I am really pleased with her. She is fantastic! I have been riding her for two years now so today, for a change, I rode a horse that I really know.” As an answer to the question why she stopped riding for Onischenko Offel says; “He had too many horses and our collaboration didn´t really work out any more, so we ended it after the Promotional League final in Barcelona. But I still ride for Ukraine and will do so in the future as well.”

“I will really congratulate Jörg on the win. His horse jumped amazing and he rode excellent, so it was really no luck that they won today. They were the best and should win,” said the head of the German Classics, Paul Schockemöhle.
