Kevin Staut: "It was a great result. It’s true have been riding Reveur de Hurtebise for about two months. I have had some good rounds and some bad rounds but I am happy about the result today."
Asked if the support of the crowd made a difference Kevin said: “Yes sure. It is always the best place to ride as the last rider in the jump off. I knew Hans was always fast, but I did not know how it would go for me as it was one of the first jump offs we have done. But the horse is really fast and I just tried to ride a really good round.”
Asked about the course Kevin said: “This is the first time with the combination of Uliano Vezzani and Luc Musette and it was really fair for the horses. It was also difficult because it is really warm here. They are really horsemen and that is the important thing."
Hans-Dieter Dreher: "I think I lost time to the black oxer, I was a little bit wide. It is the first time in Monte-Carlo for me and it is a great pleasure to ride here. It is very special and I am very happy.
Asked about the course he said: “It is a small arena so it was a difficult ride but very fair."
Abdelkebir Ouaddar: "It is the first time I have ridden in the GCT and thanks to Jan Tops I am here. It is a magnificent competition and I am very, very happy. My horse is only eight years old and not experienced but it is a fantastic result. I hope to ride next in the GCT Chantilly and Monaco again."
Asked how he rated his chances before the Grand Prix Abdelkebir said: "I had a good feeling. The horse was going very well."
Asked how he came into riding Abdelkebir said: "I started riding in Morocco which is a horse country with a strong horse culture. I came to Europe and now I am trained by Marcel Rozier so thanks to him.
Jan Tops, GCT President: "Congratulations to the riders and to Abdelkebir. I think he rode a beautiful round. It is always good to see new faces and different riders on the podium. It gives hope to everyone and it is about opening up our sport."
Asked about the Monaco GCT he said: "This place is magic. The people love to be here, they have a great time and it is very, very relaxed."
Edwina Tops-Alexander: "We are only halfway through the series so a lot could change. It is quite hard to hold a lead the whole way through but I hope I can do it. My horse has been very consistent and he jumped great today. I am very happy about today. It is my horse’s last preparation before the Olympic Games."
