Quotes from Rotterdam Grand Prix

Sunday, 24 June 2012

Sterrehof´s Tamino looked really happy to be back in the big classes. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson."First of all I have to say that I am really pleased with my horse today - he jumped really good," said Marc Houtzager. "When I walked the course I thought it was big enough, but with the twenty clears it maybe wasn´t as technical as it looked like. But we also have to remember that it was really good riders and great horses here."

On the question why Marc chose to ride Sterrehof´s Tamino in the Grand Prix, Marc replied: "Tamino was injured for a long time, and I started to ride him again during the winter. Now he was strong enough and it was time for him to start his first Grand Prix of this year - and it worked out great!"

Laura Kraut ended second on Cedric, and said  "I did eight strides between the first two fences as I have a smaller horse, and Marc did seven so that was probably the difference in our time." As Laura didn´t made the Olympic team for USA she will probably go to Aachen, Hickstead and Dublin next;  "I was named number eight on the list for the Olympics, so I was really not in the run."

Simon Delestre told the press hat he has had Napoli de Ry for a long time and that he was very fresh and spooky when he was younger. "But now he is just great and he has been doing a lot of great shows," said Simon with a smile.
