Winner Ludger Beerabaum on the question about his very enthusiastic behavior on the podium today; “You are absolutely right. It was really so far the highlight of my 2012 season. As you all know I was really focused and tried to get to the Olympics which I completely failed. So to come here and win the Grand Prix the way my horse jumped made me feel really happy. It’s a long time since I have been so happy.”
Ludger on the show in Valkenswaard; “We have had really super facilities all the years here. This is probably in all over the world on of my favorite shows to go to. I have always done good here. I really like the show. it is a horsemanship show.” Ludger on whether how the warm temperature in Valkenswaard effected the horses; “Very positive. My colleagues Marco and Philipp we talked about it this morning that we were complaining a little, but for the horses to perform to be warm you need less time to warm up - they are loose. The horses have no problem with the heat. We also had the possibility to warm up under the tent in the shade so it couldn’t really be better."
Richard Spooner - Master of the Faster - on the question about where he could have saved time to beat Ludger; “Well, Ludger was just better than me! There’s no question He was faster from beginning to end, but I’m still very happy. Second is a fantastic and I’m proud of my horse. He likes this weather it’s just kind of our normal weather at home in Los Angeles so really he was ready for another three or four rounds,” Spooner was joking about his rather fresch horse Cristallo.
Rolf-Göran Bengtsson on his first time podium horse in a GCT - Carusso LS La Silla; It was very nice, I was first and did as fast as I could, and I could not go any faster today with this horse. I’m very happy with how he performed here. Especially happy for (Alfonso) Romo - this is one of his first home bred horses coming up now.“
Show director Jan Tops on Ludger’s kind words about the show; “ It is nice to hear that he is so positive of the event. Three great riders on the podium today who can win a Grand Prix or championship everywhere. it makes it worth it.”
Edwina about holding on to her lead in the GCT series even with no points today; “It’s certainly looking more exciting. Unfortunately the last two rounds I Haven’t picked up any points. We had great sports today. A fantastic jump-off . This is the way this sport goes we have our ups and downs. My horse gave maximum effort today, but I made a mistake myself, but thats the way it goes. We’ll keep going forward and make another plan , but I’m hanging in there!”
Richard Spooner on the question whether he has any up and coming horses to one day replace Cristallo; "Every year I have tried to find a horse better than him, but I can't do it so the answer is no!"
